I HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF!!!! SALE IS A GO!!!!

I’m putting a whole bunch of things in my shop on sale to help clear out space for new stuff. Normally I don’t do sales and if something gets too low I’ll just keep it rather then give it away for pennies. So if you see something you like grab it while you can-

https://www.etsy.com/shop/PatchworkLaboratory

If you just want to skip to the mark-downs, search the word ‘sale’ in the tiny bar below my PatchworkLaboratory shop banner.

The first twenty people who buy at least two items and let me know that they came in from Tumblr - will get two free sample bars of my lavender and caffeine handmade soap.

[If I don’t have anything you want, please signal boost me anyway. My traffic on Etsy has really slowed with the huge influx of illegal shops selling non-handmade goods. The actual artists and artisans are getting buried in the search results.]

My next unspeakable creation for my Etsy shop will be my interpretation of the Hound of Tindalos. I made the pattern today and cut out enough to make four of them in different batik colors. At least three of them will go up for sale when they are completed. I also cut fabric for two more shoggoths.

In the meantime I still have two available as well as the two Night Gaunts above.

This is the next fur I’m going to be working with, I ordered a small piece and now I have to wait for it to get here. In the meantime I made up some eyes that may match it quite nicely. Especially considering what an odd color scheme it is. Finding a lining, pocket, and a strap fabric to complement it will be a real challenge. Even considering the substantial size of my fabric stash.

Could I interest my fellow bookworms in some handmade markers in the shapes of leaves? :)

Kitty showing off my newest experiment. This scarf has a pocket at either end big enough to cover my hands to the wrists. I had to special order the fur fabric to avoid buying 2 yards just to get one big long strip with the hair flowing in the right direction.
[The top is flat, I just turned it so the lining would show for the photo.]

I forgot to take a process shot when I was making the head for my TentaSpy, but now I need another head so here’s a pic. Underneath is a styrofoam wig head with a plastic craft store mask ticky-tacked to the face. I didn’t think to use the mask last time, so my TentaSpy doesn’t have much of a nose. Hopefully this one will turn out a bit more prominent.
There is no real rhyme or reason to my technique here, I just pull and pin and stitch until it all fits and then pull it off before closing the largest seam.
Again, I’m not working on something for sale, but there are lots of wonderful things that are for sale in my shop if you find my work intriguing. -

Yeah, this took me a few days. :)

Putting this TentaSpy together was frustrating as hell because I weighted the tentacles so they could be posed. The fingers are also weighted. The head has a random stitch pattern because I made it by curling fabric over a styrofoam head and sewing it down and then opening the last fold to remove the foam and stuff it. The face is painted and there is a ton of hand-stitching. Most of the pattern was made by tracing parts of my body onto large paper. The blue fabric has some intentional staining to give it texture and the ‘skin’ was a white cotton that I dyed with boiling coffee and tea.

I’m going to get him some clothes now that I’ve got all the pieces together to take some measurements. [Probably just a white shirt, vest and tie.] But that’s a trip to Goodwill, and it can wait for me to get paid again or sell some stuff from my online shop - https://www.etsy.com/shop/PatchworkLaboratory

I finished the cowl I was making too. Spirit looks pretty fierce wearing it. I told him to pretend he was Subzero, but that photo, while hilarious, looked really unflattering. ;)
